Early Dinners Are Back On The Table For The Health-Conscious!
June 18, 2025
In today’s hectic times our lives move at a frenetic pace and often when we have to work till late, we often end up eating our dinner quite late at night. As per the medical fraternity, this is not a good habit and often leads to health ailments, especially for those grappling with digestive concerns.
The focus earlier was on ‘what’ we ate rather than ‘when’ we ate. However, the encouraging trend now is that most people are turning the clock back on the time they eat, especially when it comes to their dinner.
When and what to eat
So, what is the ideal time to eat dinner? The best time is before or around 6:30-7:00 pm. To be more precise, experts suggest it is best to complete this last meal of the day mostly before sunset or at least four before going to bed.
I personally follow this and it has helped me a lot in my fitness regime. I feel light and there is no bloating in the mornings when I adhere to this schedule. Usually, no-carbs meals are best when it comes to dinner. A nice one-pot meal rich in protein and fibre goes a long way in keeping you healthy and fit.
Try out this appetizing recipe!
Let me suggest a nice soup recipe which can be a great meal for you at night – a Lentil and Sweet Potato soup.
- Moong dal can be boiled along with cubes of sweet potato.
Put some butter in a pan, some crushed garlic till brown, add chopped veggies like capsicum, beans, carrot and even boiled chicken if you consume non-vegetarian food. - Toss it a little and add the boiled moong dal and sweet potato.
- Add salt and freshly-crushed black pepper along with fresh cream or coconut milk to give it a nice creamy texture.
Your easily-prepared thick, creamy and healthy soup for a complete yet light dinner meal is ready.
Bon appétit!
